    It was about time for Prototype to have its own UI components, using the power of prototype.js (and the new script.aculo.us)

    Waiting for it.. Yes prototype needs to bring all of its extension library’s under one root. Its a nice Idea and will help a lot. I hope Sébastien Gruhier, author of the Prototype Window class get included.

    Just to clear any confusion, Scripteka (the name of what you see on a picture) has nothing to do with Prototype UI (PWC successor project which I recently joined). Scripteka’s goal is to provide an easy and convenient way of browsing, rating and submitting prototype-based extensions.

    Stay tuned : )

    Looking forward to this Kangax. Later once you have released it to the wide world, will it be hosted and maintained by you, or will it be hosted on the same server for prototype, and therefore be integrated into the website. As it would be really nice and increase awareness of this project.

    I am hoping with scriptaculous 2.0 it will be light as a feather so extensions like drag and drop, extra effects, can be plugged together. Which raises one more question potentialy, if this were to happen, I’d presume per extensions would check dependencies?

    @Luke parry

    Scripteka will be hosted by us (me and mx_). Moderation will most likely be done by us and core developers (we are planning to introduce “top editors” section soon), while anyone will be able to submit own scripts and rate the other ones. Any feedback and constructive suggestions are very much appreciated.

    Is Scripteka up now? It seems like it’s working, albeit, this may not be its full potential.

    Very nice. What did you guys use for the scroll/slide in Scripteka? I would like to use this. Is there a library/example available?

    I used Scriptaculous Control.Slider with few modifications. The wiki has an example of how to set it up as well as an extensive list of options.

    Good luck!
